ONGOING PROJECTS
Sustainable Business Hub continuously runs or participates in 10-15 projects in order to create benefits for our members and work towards the global sustainability goals.
We try to work with a mix of projects such as knowledge-raising projects, acceleration and matchmaking projects, test beds and export projects. At the same time, we try to cover different areas such as climate, sustainable urban development, sustainable construction, circular economy, water and sewerage and waste.
BRINC
In the project Brokering cross-border innovation through clusters (BRINC), we work to get municipalities to identify their needs for innovation procurement for circular solutions. We do this by bringing together their procurement units with companies.
For companies, we will arrange a series of different activities that will help them see what opportunities they have to present and sell their products and solutions to the public.

CommitClimate
Municipalities and cities have an important role in the work to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide in the energy systems. To make it easier for municipalities to gain knowledge of their climate footprint, a simulation model is developed. The model will both be able to show the footprint of today and to simulate different future scenarios. An educational material is produced that municipalities around the Baltic Sea can use when planning for an energy transition.

e-Flex - digital platform for energy trade and consumer flexibility
In the projecte-Flex – digital platform for energy trade and consumer flexibility, a new approach is being tested to make the energy system both more environmentally friendly and more robust. The core is the development of a digital platform where energy is bought and sold. Both district heating, district cooling and electricity output will be traded on the platform. In the long run, we hope that the solution can be spread to more customers and copied by other energy companies and municipalities. During the project period, the platform is developed and tested on a number of properties in Lund's hospital area.

Energy Equilibrium
Renewable energy takes on an increasingly important role in the energy system. Another trend is that municipalities are given an increasingly important role in climate change. In Energy Equilibrium, we target municipalities and energy suppliers to support them in the work of using the renewable energy sources available in the region. The work is centered around the digital platform that will be developed.

Green Industrial Areas
The project aims to reduce energy use and emissions of greenhouse gases from industries and companies. We work with innovative solutions for industrial areas and business parks. At the end of the project, municipalities should have a better ability to work with industrial and business parks in order to reduce their climate impact

Photovoltaics for All (PV4All)
In order for cities and regions around the Baltic Sea to become carbon dioxide neutral, the share of renewable energy in the energy system needs to increase. Increasing the use of photovoltaics is part of this. In the project, we will inventory how much electricity is produced by photovoltaics in the Baltic Sea area and develop innovative methods to increase the production.

Power Bio
Production of green energy and high-value products from grass, seaweed and straw is the goal of the Power Bio project. If we succeed, biomass, which today is a problem and a cost, can instead decrease the amounts of fossil resources being used for e.g. plastics, jet fuel and stone wool insulation. We will address companies to find methods to collect biomass. We will address researchers and companies to find methods to refine biomass into more high-value products.

Rest to Best

The basic idea of the Rest to Best project is to take care of organic residues and produce a useful product, biochar. The properties of biochar as a plant substrate are evaluated both through analyzes of the carbon and cultivation experiments. The project also evaluates the potential of biochar as a carbon sink. We will also review new uses for biochar to make it more profitable to produce carbon.

Increased implementation of functional blue-green solutions in the sustainable city
More blue-green solutions identified. More people knowing about them. More solutions implemented. Greener and healthier cities that are better able to withstand climate extremes. This is what Blue Green City Lab wants to achieve with this project. With a flora of various green roofs, green walls and rainbeds in the cities, the capacity to withstand expected future downpours and heat waves increases.
